Prevent Energy Loss:
1) Prevent drafts-
-If you feel cold air coming in through your windows, the warm air is escaping.
-This is easy to fix!
-Fit drafts around your doors and windows. Fill in the cracks with a filler or sealant.
-Close your curtains after dark to trap in the warm air.
-Preventing drafts relates to conduction because the air gets trapped between two objects and then the particles collide.
2) Turn off appliances and lighting-
-When your not using your appliances you should turn them off!
-You can, turn off your computer, defrost your refrigerator regularly, turn the lights off when you leave the room, and unplug appliances when not in use.
-You can save 50-100 dollars per year doing this!
-When you turn off your appliances and lighting this is relating to radiation because the heat coming off of your appliances and lighting is coming through electromagnetic waves.
3) Insulate-
-Up to one third of your heating escapes from your roof.
-This is very simple to do and its the most efficient energy saving thing you can do!
-Invest the cavity-wall insulation.
-Insulation relates to conduction because the particles collide trying to get out.
